Music Mondays stereo hearts

I've started a tradition over here on the blog: Music Mondays
Each Monday I'd like to share with you a song that I enjoy.
It's a way for me to share what music I'm listening to and, if you have a song or artist you're interested in you can share with me, too!
You can join in with me if you'd like, it's quite fun :)

There are two ways to join me:

1.  Add a Music post to your blog and link back using the Music Monday button (on the right side of the blog)
2. or, just leave a comment here letting me know what music you've been listening to lately, I'd love to hear what's in your ears and get a conversation started about it.  Maybe the music you're listening to might be one of the next Music Monday features

Today I have Stereo Hearts by Gym Class Heroes ft. Adam Levine.  The first time I heard it I didn't super love it, then the more I listened to it the more I liked it.  Then, I watched the video.  If you haven't seen it yet, it's pretty cool.  If you're one of the 29 million people who've watched the video on youtube, sorry here it is again ;)  I like watching the shadows in the video, watch:

So, i'd love to hear what you're listening to these days.  it can be something popular, or something obscure..something reggae, country, pop...whatever floats your boat :) It's all about letting your taste in music be heard, and sharing it with others, whatever your tastes may be.  You can grab the button on the right side of the blog if you want to link up!  or, just leave me a comment and let me know what you're listening to this week :)

wiww- new fall dress

went to a "tent sale" last week. it was a circus.
Down East Outfitters collected a hugenormous amount of clearance rack clothes and sold them all for $1-13.  There was a mad rush of people into the store.  They gave us all humongous bags to stuff all our goods in and I waited an hour to try on my clothes.  They had set up three little tents to try clothes on in and they had two awful fun-house style mirrors to check yourself out in.  but it was totally worth it! :)
I love this new dress.  It is made of the softest cotton!  and I love the cute ribbon/lace details.  I bought this at the big clearance sale i went to last week. $13, not bad.  it is such a pretty fall orange color!

I also bought this new sweater vest and the  grey t-shirt at this super-sale.  vest $10 shirt $3, pretty good, eh?  and i just had to pair them with my soft suede target boots that i love so much :)

I'm Nesting

I'm not pregnant! but I am nesting!
I've had such an urge to get organized lately!
I guess it's not hard to understand when you see this:
yep, this was calling to me saying "clean me up!".  this changing table has been used as a book shelf for the last 6 years and, frankly, it wasn't strong enough to hold all these books!  I found this fun storage idea on pinterest and went to an antique store looking for wooden crates for cheap:

well, we found some cool wooden crates but they were $15-$20 each (and $11 at Joann's) I figured by the time I got enough crates it'd be about $100.  and then i spotted it!  a wonderful oak desk, with attached shelves above for storage.  it looked like it would have enough room to hold all of our kids books and the price tag was.....$60 SO excited!
the girls are just lovin this new desk.  I don't know what it is, but for some reason i always dreamed about having a desk in my bedroom when i was a kid...is that just me??

Also, I've organized all my girls' tights (finally!)

we have SO MANY tights...but, i must say, they are mostly hand-me-downs.  i've only bought about 5 pairs of tights as a momma of 3 girls, but we have about 80 pairs as you can see.  I hung this handy shoe-holding device up in their bathroom and now they can see and find their tights a lot easier
ya know the saying "a place for everything, and every thing in it's place" well, that doesn't work unless you have a "place", right?!  I didn't get a "before" shot but this shoe closet was just a big, jumbled MESS
I originally had a shoe rack in our closet and all the rest of the shoes just piled up next to it

I bought these bins for each of the kids for like $2.99 they got to write their names on them

i bought this for my shoes, and i put my most often worn shoes on our ikea shoe rack
I don't know what got me so obsessed with getting organized...i even cleaned out our pantry..i guess it was all out of necessity, too much clutter driving me crazy!  have you done any organizing lately? what are your best organizing ideas? i'd love to hear from you :)

wiww+80's prom dress

I found this vintage 80's fuschia lacey dress at a thrift store for $2.50
It's very 80's right now but I think it has potential.
so, i immediately got to "work" pinning items that matched my vision:

sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy

we had a lot of rainy days with no sunshine last week and by a lot i mean like 5, but it felt like a month!

i told jeremy i don't mind the rain, i'd just like it to be rainy above us and sunny in the western sky so that it lights up the whole valley....yeah, not too much to ask, right?
Rain and sunshine at the same time is one of my very favorite things!
well, low and behold a few days later, while walking in the walmart parking lot the rain was pouring and the sky opened up in the west & we were blessed to have the whole place lit up.

so beautiful!

Lindsay (from aisle to aloha) told me they call it "liquid sunshine" in Hawaii....that's a perfect name!  It is like walking through wet sunlight. gah! i love it!

picture me walking thru the parking lot pushing Sofia in the cart whilst exclaiming "this is so beautiful! this is SOOOO beautiful!!" yeah, umm, got a few weird looks!

also, i didn't get a good picture :(
it's really much prettier in real life, and i took the pic about 2 minutes too late
and this happened:

at a restaurant we frequent (and by frequent i mean, it's like Norm going into Cheers when we walk in there) we had a pizza-sized cookie.  It's hard to tell from the pic but this thing had 6 large scoops of ice cream on top, and drizzled with chocolate and caramel.  the cookie is so hot and the ice cream melts allover it...it's the bees knees!  i'm drooling now just reminiscing of yesterday, thinking i may have to go back soon...it today tooo soon?

and i heard about this cool way to do hair from leonora at yellow heart art...she tweeted about this tutorial.. so I gave it a whirl, what could be more fun than a hair bow made of hair, right? :)
mine turned out a lot messier than the original, and my bobby pins won't stay in, and i think i need to put it higher on my head next time, but other than that, i love it...it's simple and cute.
added the mustache to distract from how crooked my bangs are in this photo! :/
well, i'm off to trim my bangs and sew... watch for some new headbands coming to my etsy shop later today!  a sneak peek:

oh, and aren't the children supes adorbs?!
hope your day is full of little things that make it great!!
