just a little something...
well, March is going to be an exciting month.
we're spending a few days in Salt Lake City next week for an art show.
so, that means a lot of shopping, trips to the zoo & aquarium
Then, on St. Patrick's Day, it's my birthday.
I'm still officially in my twenties for one more year.
it's weird
time goes by so fast
March is also the anniversary of my shop opening.
2 years ago I opened Sugar Blossom Boutique,
I think that's we should celebrate a bit.
So, from now, until my birthday (March 17th)
I will be giving a free ruffle flower headband
with every $20 purchase
March 17th is also Billy Corgan's birthday
i've may have had a crush on Billy since I was 12 years old
Jeremy may or may not tease me for having a crush on a guy with such peculiar looks
and an odd shaped head...but whatevs
I love the new series Billy has put on youtube. He plays songs from Smashing Pumpkins hayday acoustically and adds a little behind-the-scenes info. very cool.
It's like a personal acoustic session with just you & Billy Corgan...I mean, what kind of young woman hasn't dreamed all her life of this moment...right?!

Change is in the air
This morning Ingrid remarked "mom, you look different"
after a little prying..is it my hair? what is it?
she said "you look really tired"
ha! isn't that nice :/
of course, it's very true, but whatevs.
I grateful to all those that follow me on facebook and participated in my impromptu question/giveaway last week. I asked what your fave spring colors are and the winner gets a new headband. Now, I've got a whole pile of beautiful spring colored fabric to work with, so pretty!!
now, it's time for me to get started sewing!

oh, happy day
Happy Groundhogs Day.
I hope he doesn't see his shadow.
Today is also my sister-in-laws wedding day. I've kinda been banned from talking about her wedding, which is too bad. But, I can say we're excited because Sofia gets to be the flower girl. I'll be sure to take lots of pics...we will be wearing these dresses we got for Christmas because the wedding colors are peaches and creams and golds (I think...)
I hope the little flower girl can handle it, because she tends to get nervous in front of large groups of people.
My contribution to the wedding is the bride's headpiece. Her wedding dress has pearls across the chest so she wanted pearls in her hair, and again, peach is one of her colors, and she requested the feathers.

Baby Afton
If you've been following the story of Kami at No Biggie, you have read about the heartache of losing a child. Her sweet baby, Afton, was born 3 1/2 months early and weighed only 12 ounces. She lived 7 short days, in Kami's words "After a whirlwind week of heartbreak and sweet blessings, we are so full of gratitude for the sweet seven days that our baby girl graced our lives."
Now, The Bigler Family is facing an extensive amount of hospital bills, and the funeral costs are very high. Brittany of Love Stitched has set up a charity for The Bigler Family. All items there have been donated to help with their bills. If you still need Christmas presents, or if you just want to help out please visit this shop.

sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
we had a lot of rainy days with no sunshine last week and by a lot i mean like 5, but it felt like a month!
i told jeremy i don't mind the rain, i'd just like it to be rainy above us and sunny in the western sky so that it lights up the whole valley....yeah, not too much to ask, right?
Lindsay (from aisle to aloha) told me they call it "liquid sunshine" in Hawaii....that's a perfect name! It is like walking through wet sunlight. gah! i love it!
picture me walking thru the parking lot pushing Sofia in the cart whilst exclaiming "this is so beautiful! this is SOOOO beautiful!!" yeah, umm, got a few weird looks!
also, i didn't get a good picture :(
and this happened:
at a restaurant we frequent (and by frequent i mean, it's like Norm going into Cheers when we walk in there) we had a pizza-sized cookie. It's hard to tell from the pic but this thing had 6 large scoops of ice cream on top, and drizzled with chocolate and caramel. the cookie is so hot and the ice cream melts allover it...it's the bees knees! i'm drooling now just reminiscing of yesterday, thinking i may have to go back soon...it today tooo soon?
and i heard about this cool way to do hair from leonora at yellow heart art...she tweeted about this tutorial.. so I gave it a whirl, what could be more fun than a hair bow made of hair, right? :)
mine turned out a lot messier than the original, and my bobby pins won't stay in, and i think i need to put it higher on my head next time, but other than that, i love it...it's simple and cute.
added the mustache to distract from how crooked my bangs are in this photo! :/
well, i'm off to trim my bangs and sew... watch for some new headbands coming to my etsy shop later today! a sneak peek:
